UPDATES - MAY 2022

With the world opening back up again, we are loving being back in touch with our overseas agents, guides and hotels so that we can once more offer you a broad range of holidays abroad.

We have recently returned from successful trips to Bulgaria and Northern Greece, Catalonia, Finland and Extremadura. Guests and guides alike are delighted to be back out there birding again overseas.

NEW HOLIDAY! - Extremadura in Winter, 4th-10th December 2022

We are really excited to be returning to Extremadura again this year and for the first time we are going in December. Extremadura is home to the largest concentration of wintering Common Crane anywhere in the world and this will no doubt be a highlight of this holiday.

This time of year should also bring us sizeable feeding flocks of Great and Little Bustard, alongside Pin-tailed and Black-bellied Sandgrouse which will be much easier to see in the short winter grass.

The holiday is based at one centre and runs at a leisurely pace and while birding is the priority, we plan to take in some history and culture too.

This will be a fabulous winter holiday in the run up to Christmas and definitely one to add to your planner!

UPDATES - JANUARY 2022

Our fantastic Finland & Northern Norway in Winter holiday joins our schedule again in 2023.  Highlights may be good numbers of King and Steller’s Eider in stunning breeding plumage, alongside flocks of other wildfowl including Common Eider, Long-tailed Duck, scoter and Smew. Large numbers of seabirds will be returning to their clifftop breeding colonies on Hornoya Island, with Brunnich’s Guillemot and Puffin both featuring. Among other key species of the far north are Hawk Owl, Gyrfalcon, White-tailed Eagle, Glaucous and Iceland Gull, Purple Sandpiper, Siberian Jay, Siberian Tit, Arctic Redpoll and Pine Grosbeak, and there is a chance of encountering the Aurora Borealis too! A lovely short adventure to the far north, staying at three centres amid beautiful snowy scenery, and perhaps a unique chance to see Puffins in the snow!

PRICE ANNOUNCEMENT- We are pleased to confirm the price for our BRAND NEW! NAMIBIA tour 29 August - 14 September 2022. Prices start at £6295pp and places are filling fast!

A fantastic destination, ideal for birders who want to enjoy spring migration on an island without crowds of birders and unspoiled by tourism. Skyros is situated further out into the Aegean than Lesvos, distant from the Turkish coast so there will be fewer species than an equivalent week on Lesvos (about 90 – 100 are expected), however birds tend to be more concentrated and conspicuous here as the island is smaller with fewer freshwater bodies and less cover. Join us again in 2023 for this ever popular holiday.

Our new Sweden in Autumn holiday will be running in 2024 and visits the famous Falsterbo - one of the most iconic migration points in Europe.  Every autumn, around 500 million migratory birds pass over southern Sweden, and with a reputation second to none, Falsterbo is the perfect location to enjoy birds on the move. With both variety and numbers, it is one of the very best places to observe active migration in autumn. Register your interest today!

We are delighted to announce that the headline cost for our Colombia 2022 holiday has been frozen at the 2021 price. From just £6795pp join us for this exceptional birding tour which explores from Colombia's central and western Andes and Cauca Valley to the endemic-rich Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. We hope to see 350+ species on this exciting tour! Our NEW! Brazil - Atlantic rainforest tour will now next run in June 2024!

St Lucia & St Vincent
Building on our very popular trip to St Lucia, we will include nearby St Vincent for this enjoyable introduction to Caribbean birding.
