travel tipsGetting here is easy
BY CARFrom the west travel north to Perth. From the east travel via Forth Road Bridge and M90 to Perth. From Perth take A9 signposted Inverness to exit north of Aviemore. Follow signs northeast through Boat of Garten to Nethybridge (ten miles). In Nethybridge, drive through the village, over the River Nethy, and you will see our sign 200 metres ahead on the right. BY RAILThe best train to Aviemore is the ‘Highland Chieftain‘, which leaves London Kings Cross at 12.00, arriving Aviemore at 19.27. This train collects at Peterborough (12.46), York (13.58), Newcastle (14.51) and Edinburgh (16.27). Change of train may be required at Edinburgh. We recommend you connect with this service if possible. From the west, travellers can reach Edinburgh direct from Plymouth, Bristol, Birmingham, Crewe or Preston. In general, rail travel via Edinburgh is easier than via Glasgow, where a trip across the city between stations is needed, often followed by a change at Perth. Return trains to Edinburgh leave Aviemore at 07.24, 08.29 (fast train to London - recommended), and 11.20. All detail correct at July 2005. Please check details before you travel. Rail enquiries; tel 0845 7484950. Don't forget our courtesy service to and from Aviemore - book with us in advance and we will collect you free of charge! BY AIR - NEW FLIGHTS!An increasingly popular option! New flights to Inverness are becoming available all the time – for latest info call our office. Flights to Inverness are now available from: GATWICK (Flybe, Easyjet) www.easyjet.com (0871 244 2366) Most of these flights leave around lunchtime, departing Inverness early afternoon the following Saturday – couldn’t be better! Flights can be very cheap, and the easiest way to book is online with the airline directly. Travel from Inverness Airport to Nethybridge by taxi, or rail from Inverness to Aviemore.
