This is a fantastic safari, birding and big game watching through Botswana wilderness regions, featuring three nights at Victoria Falls in Zambia and high quality lodges and luxury tented camps.

Big game includes Lion, Elephant, Cheetah, Leopard and Wild Dog, and for a taster of the birdlife, African Fish Eagle, African Skimmer, Bat Hawk, Brown Firefinch, Carmine Bee-eater, Crimson-breasted Shrike, Long-crested Eagle, Madagascar Bee-eater, Narina Trogon, Pel's Fishing Owl, Pink-backed Pelican, Rosy-throated Longclaw, Purple-banded Sunbird, Pygmy Goose, Red-winged  and Rock Pratincole, Secretary Bird, Wattled Crane, Western Banded Snake-Eagle, Wood Owl and Yellow-throated Sandgrouse, amongst many, many more – ask for our Extra Pack to see the details!

We begin with two nights at Camp Moremi in the heart of the famous Okavanga Delta, where we take superb 4x4 game drives in open vehicles to see Botswana’s best wildlife, and also use boats to explore the Xakanaka Lagoon and surrounding channels. We then transfer by boat through the serpentine channels of the Okavango Delta to our next lodge, and explore from Camp Okavango, situated on the remote Nxaragha Island in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta by canoe (mokoro) and motorboat, as always in the company of experienced professional guides.

We use internal flights to relieve the strain of travel on bumpy and dusty roads, and the first of these takes us to Savute Safari Lodge. Set in ancient camelthorn trees in the Savute ecosystem renowned for its large concentration of elephant and lion prides, this is a perfect base. We enjoy game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles, to key places including the Savute Marsh and also visit the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills.

A second air transfer takes us to Chobe Game Lodge, for another tremendous big game experience, again in open 4X4 vehicles ensuring maximum visibility. Game viewing on the Chobe River is conducted by small, highly maneuverable boats piloted by expert boatmen.

Next we transfer by road to the Kazungula border and by boat and road to Livingstone, Zambia. Our lodge is perched on the very edge of the Batoka Gorge above Rapids 16 and 17, offering a spectacular view of the raging waters of the Zambezi 200m below. Bird life is abundant around the Lodge, with resident Vereaux  Eagle, and Taita Falcon, from which our Lodge takes its name. We then fly from Livingstone to Johannesburg and connect with our flight home.
